In 1988, the Parents Association was founded in order to involve parents of Appalachian students in activities and programs vital to the success of the university. The Association offers parents:

• Up-to-date information about campus issues
• A unique communication link with administrators, faculty members, and others from the university community.
• Opportunities to participate in special projects which enrich the lives of our students.
